Start 4.0 has launched, in collaboration with Circle S.p.A., a Test Before Invest project to support Europea Servizi Terminalistici, with the aim of developing and validating technological solutions for the advanced management of logistics areas and the document digitalization of the supply chain.
The project, funded by the PNRR – Next Generation EU, is part of the digital transformation process of Sicilian ports and aims to improve the efficiency, safety and interoperability of logistics processes.
At the heart of the service is the creation of a Proof of Concept that includes: the customization and testing in a real environment of a management system for RO-RO and container terminals; the development of a module for the digital management of transport documents; and the technological transfer to the beneficiary company, also ensuring an analysis of regulatory compliance.
The activities, divided into two phases and three work packages, aim to provide concrete tools to simplify the logistics chain, increase the safety and traceability of flows and promote integration with third-party information systems. With this intervention, Start 4.0 confirms its role as an enabler of innovation in the port and logistics sector, supporting companies in the introduction of 4.0 technologies that are strategic for the competitiveness of the country system.
