Limenet, a company active in the development of innovative solutions for decarbonization and environmental management, has launched a Test Before Invest service with Start 4.0 to design and test a proof of concept of a Digital Twin of the water column, based on Industry 4.0 enabling technologies and underwater IoT solutions.
The project, funded by the PNRR – Next Generation EU, was carried out in collaboration with WSense, a company specialized in underwater communication and wireless environmental monitoring.
The objective is to integrate networks of intelligent sensors, capable of acquiring environmental parameters such as temperature, alkalinity, turbidity, salinity, pH and dissolved CO₂ in real time, useful for the characterization of sites intended for the installation of systems for the capture and storage of CO₂ (CCS).
The service included analysis, design, network deployment and access to data via cloud, in addition to support for the testing and validation phases of the solutions.
Through this initiative, Limenet will be able to consciously and sustainably evaluate its future investments in environmental technologies and actively contribute to the EU objectives of climate neutrality by 2050.
Start 4.0 thus confirms itself as a strategic enabler of innovation for the environment and industrial sustainability.
