START4.0 is a partner in the FLEX4FACT project (FLEXibility for Factories through mini-Aggregators to reduce CO₂ emissions and enable the energy transition), funded by the Horizon Europe program and coordinated by SINTEF, with the support of 20 high-profile international partners.
This strategic project fits into the European context of the sustainable energy transition, with the aim of developing and validating new solutions to improve energy efficiency and flexibility in industrial plants. Specifically, FLEX4FACT promotes the intelligent integration of renewable sources into production processes, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and CO₂ emissions.
As part of the project, START4.0 supported SEAC, a Genoese company recognized worldwide for its diving equipment manufacturing, in its digital and energy transition journey. By creating a digital twin of the rubber and plastic molding department and installing solar panels, SEAC was able to monitor and optimize energy consumption in real time, increasing operational efficiency and sustainability.
A concrete case study demonstrating how Digital technologies—when supported by specialized skills and a systemic vision—can enable new, more flexible, resilient, and environmentally friendly production models.
Our commitment to FLEX4FACT is perfectly aligned with START4.0’s mission: to support businesses in secure and sustainable digitalization, guiding them in the adoption of advanced, integrated, and cyber-resilient technological solutions capable of generating value for the local community and providing concrete responses to the climate challenge.
