Within the Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti of the Municipality of Genoa – Digital Factory for Culture, Start 4.0 has supported numerous entrepreneurial entities through technology transfer services and production of high-precision 3D designs, enabling innovative processes in the cultural and creative sector.
Thanks to participation in the Open Call Tech Transfer, SMEs and startups that won the call – such as MadLab 2.0, Moebeus, Must, MetaHeritage, R3pl1ca, iStemi, ShopTheLook, Mediaform, Presscom and Deepleey – have benefited from the advanced skills of Start 4.0 for the enhancement and digitalization of historical and museum environments, through laser scanner surveys, BIM models, point clouds, textured meshes and plans integrated into 3D environments.
The activities are part of a “Heritage BIM” vision, with the aim of promoting the use of emerging technologies (enabled by 5G/6G infrastructures) to make cultural spaces accessible, interactive and scalable, improve the user experience and support the replicability of models in the cultural-tourism sector.
The Competence Center has also strengthened the CTE Open Innovation platform to promote matchmaking between supply and demand of digital solutions, helping to create an ecosystem in which cultural innovation generates economic value and competitiveness for businesses.
A public-private synergy that demonstrates how digital can become a concrete driver of development for creative Made in Italy.
