SAAR Depositi Portuali, a company active in logistics and storage of bulk liquid products in the port of Genoa, has launched a 3D laser scanner survey and technology transfer project with Start 4.0, with the aim of digitalizing technical documentation and optimizing the management of industrial assets.
The service, carried out as part of the Test Before Invest activities, involved the detailed survey of the thermal power plant at the Genoa plant and subsequently of the Inveruno (MI) site, through the use of high-precision technologies such as the Leica RTC360 laser scanner.
Thanks to the acquisition of georeferenced point clouds, 360° immersive photographs and restitutions in formats compatible with the main design software, the company can now access an updated and navigable digital representation of its plants.
The project also included technical training for staff on the use of visualization software (Leica TruView, Autodesk Recap), promoting operational autonomy in exporting and using data for future maintenance, expansion or verification interventions.
Start 4.0 confirms itself as a reference partner for innovation in the management of industrial infrastructures, enabling concrete digitalization paths also in the port logistics sector
